Garage Door Before & After in Winter Gardens, CA
Anyone can claim they do clean work. Showing you the difference between a tired, sagging door and what rolled out of our truck at the end of the day is a different thing entirely. These are real jobs from Winter Gardens and the surrounding streets: Lakeside, Bostonia, El Cajon, Flinn Springs. The doors change. The standard doesn’t. Otto’s Garage Door has been doing this since 2004, and most of these doors are still opening quiet and straight today.
Recent Transformations
Every job below started with a phone call to (619) 935-3793. The price quoted on that call is the price on the invoice. That’s not a slogan. It’s how we’ve stayed in business here for over 20 years.
Broken Torsion Spring and Caved Door Panel Replacement

The homeowner called at 6:40 on a Tuesday and the door hadn’t moved since Sunday. The right spring had snapped clean through and the opener had dragged the top panel out of square until the metal split. We replaced both springs as a matched pair (the old one was just as tired), installed a new top panel in the same color, and reset the track alignment. Total time on site: just over two hours. The door test-cycled 12 times without so much as a creak.
Steel Two-Car Door Replacement on a 1998 Track System

A door that’s been on the house since 1998 doesn’t owe anyone anything, but this one had rust through the bottom two panels and a track system that sounded like a train brake. Otto measured, ordered the right door for the job (not the cheapest, the right weight and R-value for an east-facing wall), and had it installed in one day. The homeowner kept the old opener because it still ran fine, and we told them so. Not every job needs everything replaced.
Opener Swap from Chain Drive to Belt Drive

This one wasn’t about a broken door. It was about a bedroom directly above the garage and a chain drive that woke up the whole house at 5 a.m. We pulled the old chain unit, hung a new belt drive, and swapped the worn sensors while we were there. The homeowner called back a week later and said the only way he knew it opened was the light coming on. That’s the point.
Sagging Single-Car Door with Rotted Jamb and Bent Track

The left track was bent just enough to let the bottom roller walk out every third cycle. The jamb behind it had gone soft from years of sprinkler overspray. We replaced the track section, cut out and rebuilt the jamb with treated lumber, and re-hung the door so it closed flush for the first time in years. A new bottom seal finished it. The door runs so smooth now you can lift it with two fingers.
Custom Wood Door Restoration with New Hinges and Hardware

Some doors are worth saving. This one was. Solid cedar, built for the house in 1987, and too good to haul to the dump. We pulled each panel, re-glued the splits, sanded and refinished to match the original stain, and replaced every hinge and roller on the door. It took longer than a swap. It cost less than a custom replacement. The homeowner called it the only door on the street that still looks original – because it is.
Emergency Spring Repair at 9:30 p.m. with a Vehicle Stuck Inside

The call came in at 9:12 p.m. The spring had let go while the door was down, and the opener couldn’t lift the full weight of the door on its own. Otto answered. He was there in 25 minutes. New spring rated to the door, full cycle test, and the car was out before the kids went to bed. That’s the moment a live-answer phone matters.
